Arrival Information and Maps

You will probably be arriving to Málaga International Airport which is located at about 7 kilometers from Málaga. The easiest way to get to downtown Málaga is a very convenient train which departs every half hour and takes 15 minutes to the very center of the city (the last stop named "Málaga Centro").

From there, if you do not have a heavy luggage, you can walk to most of the hotels as you can see in the map below. However, if you  are staying at the hotels Maestranza, Las Vegas or Los naranjos, we recommend you to take a taxi. It will not be expensive at all and it is just a 5 to 10 minutes ride.

If you arrive by train or bus, both stations are  also clearly marked in the map. Observe that the central train station is different from the one where the airport train stops.

1.
Institute of Port Studies & Research (Conference Room)

2. Hotel Maestranza

3. Hotel Carlos V

4. Hotel Las Vegas and Hotel Los Naranjos

5. Hotel Don Curro

6. Hotel El Sur

Conference Room and Facilities

Málaga is a city which has always been overlooking the sea and it  has grown around his harbor. For that reason we have chosen precisely this location to celebrate the conference: All the talks will be held in the Instituto de Estudios Portuarios (Institute of Port Studies & Research) right in the harbor of Málaga. Just cross the main entrance of the harbor (located in Plaza de La Marina) and you find it on the right.

In the ground floor of this center we have the conference room plus another one in which we have installed several computers with the usual applications so that you can check your e-mail, surf the net,... Besides, there will be a couple of blackboards in the hall for informal discussions.

Miscellaneous

The lunches of the first, second and fourth day (i.e., September 9, 10 and 12) will be served at the Restaurante La Garrafa, a very typical and traditional "tapas" place here in Málaga.  As you can see in the map, it is located downtown at  a few minutes from the conference room.

The lunch of the third day will be offered in Nerja as part of the planned excursion to this village.
